Easter 2008

So the Easter bunny strikes again. Jayden was lucky to catch a glimpse of him and pose for a short photo. Lunch at Nana and Grandad's was tasty followed by a fast egg hunt. The prize eggs were the show stopper with money inside. Kate was really excited to hunt eggs this year. We sure missed Breleigh. I am sure she found plenty of candy in Colorado. We are looking forward to hearing if she is having a baby brother or sister this week. I wish I could be there for the sonogram. Last night was fun too! Grandad decided to burn his brush pile since the burn ban was lifted. We roasted hot dogs and made s'mores at their house last night. Other than the thick smell of smoke that permeated our hair and clothes, we had a great time.

Our Spring Break Day Trip

Today The Arthur Family and my mom went to Dinosaur Valley State Park for the day. The kids had a great time. I think the adults had fun too! We climbed over rocks and hiked down paths. The highlight was wading across the flowing river to see dinosaur tracks. We look forward to going back when grandad can come.

The three explorers have gone with others from the youth group to preview the site for this years youth camp. The big graw is that Big Foot has been sighted there. Let's pray for a week where we are all well!

Last week was a rough one. Scott was sick all week. It makes you realize how much your spouse does to help out when they are sick. Scott had a reaction to the antibiotic the doctor gave him and wound up in the ER on Monday night. It has taken until now for him to be sort of well. Jayden came home sick with the stomach bug on Friday and today, my throat is sore again.
All of this can be overlooked if I just focus on the fact that Spring Break begins Friday! I have absolutely no plans! I love it.

This weather is crazy!

I love Texas! One day it is 70 degrees and the next it is snowing. This week has been warm two days and two days with snow or ice. The kicker is, the snow days were not consecutive. I am not looking forward to daylight savings time this weekend. If the weather stays as cold as the forecast predicts, I may not be able to adjust to the new time.

Why is Saturday so short?

Well, it appears another Saturday has gotten away from me. Jayden's basketball game got me out of bed much earlier than my body desired. A quick stop at Target turned into an hour when I saw several friends. Madi and Pay decided to stay at the church to work in the concession stand, which turned into spending the night with a friend. I miss seeing them when they are gone all day and overnight. Why are they growing so fast? I find myself worrying about them leaving home for college a bit prematurely. Jayden and I went to Mom and Dad's to hang a curtain rod and some new curtains. Chance and Lindsay showed up with a new car, a Nissan Altima, sweet ride. Kate, Abby and Josh stopped by to visit tonight too. We all went to eat at Chapps, except Scott since he his in bed sick. A quick stop at Walmart was all that was left of the day. Now it is time to find a good book and head off to bed. How can I add a day to the weekend? I wanted to organize my closet and take the extra clothes to Goodwill, clean up my home office and make time to do a sewing project. The laundry in staring at me. One more day... please?
